Technology Communicating for You
COMMUNICATE ALERTS OR UNEXPECTED FINDINGS FROM YOUR PACS
The RadAlert application is designed to allow Radiologists to issue Critical, Significant or Unexpected findings to the referring physician in real time using an embedded application into their PACS RIS system. The RadAlert application is web based and uses HL7
messaging from the RIS to inform itself of orders and results so that when a Radiologist initiates the Alert sequence, the application already has all it needs to complete the alert with just one more mouse click.
Immediate access to the result
INSTANT ACCESS TO THE REPORT
The Smartphone/Device app available with the Alert system is provided free of charge to the site. It not only provides an intuitive way of seeing the alert but also allows the recipient to immediately stream a view of the report to the phone/device securely following the correct PIN being entered. This saves time for the recipient, reduces calls to the Radiology Department and facilitates rapid patient management whilst the physician remains mobile. Alerts can also be delegated to colleagues or escalated from within the App.
CONTACTS MANAGEMENT
The system has its own portal for contact maintenance allowing recipients to configure the details used for alerts such as phone numbers. Recipients can also indicate their availability and nominate alternative contacts when marked as unavailable.
Team messaging is also possible if desired. Contacts can also be managed via HL7 MFN Interface if the site has this available.
SUPPORT
The system is supplied with remote monitoring and service support is available from within the UK or Ireland 24/7/365 with country based engineers
The application can go one step further than alerts. It is possible to mark results as positive when reporting in Radiology via the alert application.
This is really intended for A&E scenarios where a gadget based on A&E department PC’s can show positive results in a worklist or pop up as they are created and within the application there is a link to the Image and Report. A&E physicians can then immediately ensure they don’t miss pathology that only the Radiologist may have detected.
The app allows the physician to acknowledge the positive result and in doing so is closing the loop on the patient diagnosis and management and creating an evidence trail at the same time that can be audited.
